Marketplace Growth Advisor

Director of Marketplace Services Andy Thompson (a.k.a. “the Amazon guy”) brings a well-rounded expertise to his role leading the Marketplace Team. Andy graduated with a B.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies from Bethel University before starting his career in online retail selling patio furniture, where he gained valuable, hands-on experience in everything from customer service and sales to freight logistics and inventory management. “That early retail experience provided useful perspective for what I do now, because I can relate to the kinds of worries and challenges our clients face.”  Learning the ins and outs of selling products on Amazon, Andy worked as an Amazon Strategist before joining Booyah in 2017. “Amazon is where I shopped for everything, and it made sense to pay increasing attention to that marketplace.” Consistently uplifting those around him, Andy is the kind of leader that gets a thrill from seeing others succeed. “Nothing makes me prouder than seeing team members I’ve worked with succeed and do things I never dreamed of doing.”

At Booyah, Andy’s time is split between training marketplace team members, consulting with clients, developing new marketplace strategies, and reviewing marketplace prospects. He’s acquired the kind of specialized knowledge that puts clients at ease, and he understands not only their concerns but the importance of those concerns and how to resolve them. He loves the variety and the answer-providing nature of his work: “There is nothing better than leaving a meeting in which we answered every question the client had. It’s worth all the time and energy to be able to respond confidently to any question with knowledge based in experience.”  Andy often shares his expertise beyond the office, speaking and educating others on the inner workings of ecommerce marketplaces. When he’s not talking Amazon or other marketplaces, he’s doing “all the typical Colorado things” outdoors: fly-fishing, skiing, camping, and (possibly) running.
