After unsuccessfully trying to poach an employee, I joined Booyah in 2005. My first job was as a one-man-band ad agency in the corner of what was then a technology and software firm. I don’t know it then, but my miserable recruiting efforts turned into the best job of my life. Today, I’m thrilled to lead our team of advertising experts. I take great pride in building a progressive and sustainable business in my hometown.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a gold medal for?
Burrito eating! I can put down 2 Chipotle burritos in a single sitting. Assuming Kobayashi gave up his amateur status, I think I’ve got a chance.
What is the next thing on your bucket list?
I want to hike the Appalachian Trail. Or, drive to Cape Horn in South America. Or bike to Alaska. I love a long journey.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
People will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.
Which of your scars has the best story behind it?
I’ve had lots of fun with athletics and adventures. What finally took me down though, was a shallow hole on a recreational kickball field. I tore up my knee so badly that it required two specialist surgeries and nearly two years of rehab. The scars still remind me—leave the cleats to the professional athletes.
